Reclaiming Wholeness: A Journey Through Healing, Boundaries, and Grounding

The reflection questions in my book "You Are Becoming: A Sacred Guide To Release, Heal, & Return" have been gentle guides, leading me into the quiet places where my father's wounds ache, where the echoes of past loves linger, and where the tender pain within my marriage rests. These questions, many of which I am sharing here, have become keys that unlock the doors to my release, my healing, and my becoming.


In our lives, threads of trauma, resilience, and transformation intertwine. Navigating the aftermath of profound pain, be it from personal violations, familial neglect, or the weight of generational wounds, demands not only courage but also intentional self-care. As I am journeying through the role of a caregiver, entrepreneur, student, mother, and partner, the call to remain grounded becomes even more pressing.


Embracing the Journey of Healing


I was silenced and dismissed when my rapist mocked me, disrespected me, and took my kindness for granted. I was silenced and rejected when I allowed family members to mistreat me, disrespect me, and overlook me because I longed to be loved in return. I was silenced and dismissed when my best friend watched me suffer instead of truly hearing how I needed him to show up for me.


I reclaim those parts of me by choosing love, speaking my truth even when my voice trembles, and setting boundaries that honor my worth. I forgive them, not to excuse their harm, but to release the weight I no longer carry. I call back every silenced part of me with gentleness and grace. I remind myself: I am worthy. I am seen, heard, and free.

Reestablishing Boundaries


I neglected the boundaries that protected my peace, including the boundaries around my time, energy, and emotional space. I allowed people to stay longer than they deserved. I gave more than was ever reciprocated. I silenced myself to keep the peace, even when it cost me my own. I overlooked how people showed me who they were because I held onto potential instead of the reality.


Moving forward, I will protect these boundaries by choosing myself every time. I will listen to my intuition the first time it speaks. I will say no without guilt, walk away without explanation, and release what no longer honors my growth. I will trust that the love meant for me will never require me to shrink, overgive, or betray myself again.

Grounding Through Holistic Practices


As I shift through this, I am adjusting to becoming a caregiver for a loved one. Keeping up with my business, collaborating with intentional healers, keeping up with my school work, healing my wounds, being a mother, while getting to know myself and my partner, life has been moving, and I am determined to stay grounded.


To support this journey, I integrate holistic practices that nourish my mind, body, and spirit:


  • Reiki Healing: This energy healing modality promotes relaxation and emotional balance. Research indicates that Reiki can reduce anxiety and stress and enhance overall quality of life.


  • Meditation and Mindfulness: Incorporating meditation into daily routines enhances emotional resilience and clarity. Mindfulness practices help one stay present, reduce overwhelm, and foster a deeper connection with oneself.


  • Grounding Techniques: Connecting physically with the earth, such as walking barefoot on grass, stabilizes energy, reduces stress, and enhances mood.

In embracing these practices, I honor each facet of me being a caregiver, creator, student, mother, friend, and partner. I ground myself in love, resilience, and authenticity with each breath. I am the love, protection, and respect I have always needed. I honor my voice, my truth, and my healing. I am free to love myself completely. I am whole, healing, and free. And so it is done. Ase.
